After extensive repairs to the Gateshead, Sheriff Hill 70cm FM repeater GB3NT<\/strong>, the repeater unit will be installed on Tuesday, 28 April.<\/p>\n

The switch on will take place at 1500BST. The keeper kindly asks for volunteers to join in for a switch-on net to test the repeater for the first time with callsigns, names and signal reports.<\/p>\n

GB3NT is known to reach as far as Middlesbrough and the North York Moors to the South and Otterburn and Kielder Forest to the North. The downlink is on 433MHz and the uplink is on 434.6MHz.<\/p>\n

The CTCSS tone is 118.8Hz. GB3NT is also connected to Echolink via GB3NT-L over RF link from Walkergate, Echolink node 225411.<\/p>\n

The OPS-2m-NW Net<\/strong> is a regular VHF simplex net for licensed amateur radio operators across North West England, organised and run by the M0KKN Club<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The net takes place fortnightly on 145.500MHz at 7.30pm. Operators are asked to QSY as directed by the net controller.<\/p>\n

All licence levels are welcome to join in.<\/p>\n

Barnsley and District Amateur Radio Club<\/strong> has a Club meeting on Wednesday from 7pm at Oaks WMC in Ardsley. There is an open net on 144.5625MHz FM from 7pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n
