Meet Mike, EA7JVZ (Spain)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

How long have you been licensed, and when did you become an RSGB member?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

I was first licensed in 1968 as G8BLI. I joined the RSGB in the same year. I have been living in Spain since 2014.<\/h4>\n

What would you say is the best thing about RSGB membership?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

I would say that RadCom is the most important part of the RSGB’s output – it is a “go-to” essential, to keep the hobby alive. RadCom should be applauded as a regular stimulant, a commercial nudge and a source of (mostly) electronic know-how. The forthcoming events, rallies and news contents also playing their part in keeping the regional activities very much alive. None of this would happen without the RSGB news gathering and the dedicated staff.<\/h4>\n

What would you say to someone considering whether to join the RSGB?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

I tend to coax “newbies” by passing on a RadCom or two to whet their appetites and study the goodies advertised therein!<\/h4>\n

What is your favourite mode, band or aspect of the hobby?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

As a net controller for the Royal Signals ARS every Monday evening, I must spend more time and effort on 40m SSB than elsewhere. I will be tempted on to other bands, particularly 18MHz for the DX and lack of contest traffic!<\/h4>\n
