{"id":37655,"date":"2025-03-07T22:30:34","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T22:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=37655"},"modified":"2025-03-07T22:40:00","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T22:40:00","slug":"rsgb-members-celebrate-iaru-centenary-with-a-special-call-sign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2025\/03\/07\/rsgb-members-celebrate-iaru-centenary-with-a-special-call-sign\/","title":{"rendered":"RSGB to activate IARU centenary special call sign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the celebrations of the centenary of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaru.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>International Amateur Radio Union<\/strong><\/a>, the RSGB will be activating the call sign GB0IARU during the month of April 2025.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to be an activator, you need to be an <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/join-us\/join-the-rsgb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RSGB member<\/strong><\/a> with a <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs-training\/for-students\/full\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Full licence<\/strong><\/a>, as UK licence conditions only allow Full licensees to operate club call signs. If you would like to take part, please send an email to <strong>contestclub@rsgbcc.org<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will be invited to join a discussion group which will be used to provide you with all the information that you will need. You will have to join the <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/radio-sport\/rsgb-contest-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RSGB Contest Club<\/strong><\/a> in order to use the call sign as GB0IARU is linked to the Contest Club\u2019s call sign G6XX. Foundation and Intermediate licensees will be able to take part under supervision.<\/p>\n<p>You can find detailed instructions about operating with GB0IARU on the <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/radio-sport\/rsgb-contest-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RSGB website<\/strong><\/a>.
