{"id":36132,"date":"2025-01-22T12:55:48","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T12:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=36132"},"modified":"2025-01-22T12:55:48","modified_gmt":"2025-01-22T12:55:48","slug":"the-rsgb-2025-election-process-has-begun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2025\/01\/22\/the-rsgb-2025-election-process-has-begun\/","title":{"rendered":"The RSGB 2025 election process has begun"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>What are your goals for 2025?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Could you spare some time and share your expertise to make a difference within the amateur radio community?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/rsgb-2025-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RSGB 2025 elections<\/strong><\/a> process has begun, and nominations are open for a range of <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/volunteering-for-the-rsgb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>volunteer<\/strong> <\/a>roles.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> RSGB\u2019s President<\/strong><\/a> John McCullagh, GI4BWM will reach the end of his second year as President at the AGM and so will stand down. There are also two Elected Board Director vacancies. The <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Board<\/strong> <\/a>is looking for people with specific skills to fill these roles. The current President is one of the few at Board level with extensive experience in <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/committees\/spectrum-forum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>spectrum<\/strong> <\/a>matters and negotiating with the authorities \u2013 so that skills gap needs to be filled.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/rsgb-notices\/2024\/12\/12\/january-2025-strategic-priorities-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Outreach<\/strong> <\/a>has been an important focus over the last year for the Society and it would like to support the current activities and expand on them. These developments will include encouraging <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/activity\/useful-practical-skills-for-new-licensees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>practical skills<\/strong><\/a> amongst the amateur radio community and also building links with other organisations.
