On Sundays, Appledore and District Amateur Radio Club has a net on 1.860MHz from 9.30am, followed by an SSB net on 144.260MHz at 10.30am. The Club has weekday nets taking place from 4pm on 145.450MHz, except Wednesday when the net moves to 144.260MHz between 8 and 9pm. The Jersey Amateur Radio Society clubroom is now open on Friday evenings from 8pm. An old footpath has been reinstated to gain access from the Meteorological Radar Tower to Mast B. Poldhu Amateur Radio Club will have a technical meeting on Tuesday 9 April at 7pm in the Marconi Centre at Poldhu Cove. The presentation will be a recreation of Dud Charman, G6CJ\u2019s famous \u2018Aerial Circus\u2019 and will use scale models to demonstrate the characteristics of common antennas such as dipoles, verticals, Yagis, and helicals. This is one of the ways HF antennas were developed before computer simulation. The presentation will be given by Terry Giles, G4CDY and there will be plenty of time for people to experiment with the antennas. The Centre can be found by driving to Poldhu and then taking the road to the left of the Cove and following the signs. Further news from Poldhu is that the new 2m DMR repeater GB7PC is now operational. This will form part of the extensive SW Cluster. On Sundays, Poole Radio Society has a net around 28.375MHz using SSB from 10am. On Mondays there is a net on 145.375MHz at 8pm. The net moves to 70.375MHz at 7pm on Tuesdays.
