The Edinburgh 23cm microwave beacon GB3EDN is back on the air after a move to a new\u00a0location on the south side of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n
It has moved about 1.5km south from its previous site in the University\u00a0of Edinburgh,\u00a0King\u2019s Buildings Campus.<\/p>\n
The operating frequency is 1296.990MHz.<\/p>\n
It sends its callsign and QRA locator in both FSK and JT4 once per minute.<\/p>\n
The new site is\u00a0about 200m higher than the previous site and it is hoped that coverage\u00a0is somewhat improved.<\/p>\n
It has a clear view from north-west through to the east, giving good coverage up the east coast, and across the North Sea to Scandinavia.<\/p>\n
It is also hoped that there will be\u00a0better propagation to\u00a0the south from the new site.<\/p>\n
