{"id":33402,"date":"2023-11-24T18:30:11","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T18:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=33402"},"modified":"2023-11-24T19:05:39","modified_gmt":"2023-11-24T19:05:39","slug":"2023-itu-world-radiocommunication-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2023\/11\/24\/2023-itu-world-radiocommunication-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"2023 ITU World Radiocommunication Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first week of the 2023 ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) has seen discussions get underway on a wide variety of agenda items.<\/p>\n<p>Notably for amateur radio, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaru-r1.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>IARU Region 1<\/strong><\/a> reports that new ITU Recommendation M.2164 on guidance for amateur and amateur satellite usage in the 1240 to 1300MHz range has now been published online.<\/p>\n<p>The IARU has also published an <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/IARU2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>accompanying guide<\/strong><\/a> on its website.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendation is the culmination of a challenging four year development period.<\/p>\n<p>It now forms a key component of the WRC-23 discussions, which are ongoing, relating to WRC-23 agenda item 9.1b.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/wrc-23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RSGB special focus web page<\/strong><\/a> has regular reports and background on both 23cm and other frequency bands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first week of the 2023 ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) has seen discussions get underway on a wide variety of agenda items.
