This will have no effect on the usability of the file whatsoever unless you are using a pre-2007 version of Microsoft Word or a very limited number of other older wordprocessing applications.<\/h4>\n<h4>Up until now we have used the pre-2007 Word file type <strong>.doc<\/strong> to accommodate users of old software but now regard it as unlikely any news readers are still using a wordprocessing application unable to handle the <strong>.docx<\/strong> file type.<\/h4>\n<h4>We will continue to provide the <strong>.doc<\/strong> version as an alternative download for a limited period of three weeks, after which the script will no longer be available in that format. We recommend you try the <strong>.docx<\/strong> version straight away to see if it causes any issues with your software.
