Nichols has written numerous articles in just about every existent\u00a0and defunct amateur radio and electronics experimenter publication\u00a0over the past 30 years, with a strong emphasis on radio design and\u00a0techniques.\u00a0He worked as a broadcast engineer for a quarter century,\u00a0later\u00a0applying his radio experience to experiments conducted at HIPAS\u00a0Observatory and HAARP, as well as designing instrumentation for the\u00a0UCLA Plasma Physics department.<\/p>\n<p>Eric is a two-time recipient of the William Orr, W6SAI Technical Writing Award, conferred by the ARRL. He writes two regular columns, \u201cAnalog Adventures\u201d in CQ Magazine and \u201cSelf Paced Essays\u201d in QEX.
