{"id":23620,"date":"2019-11-12T16:21:13","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T16:21:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=23620"},"modified":"2019-11-12T16:21:13","modified_gmt":"2019-11-12T16:21:13","slug":"rsgb-board-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/rsgb-notices\/2019\/11\/12\/rsgb-board-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"RSGB Board changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSGB Board<\/a> plays an important role in the strategic direction of the Society <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To ensure that it is able to continue to do this efficiently, it has co-opted two experienced RSGB Members to assist the Board until the AGM in April 2020.<\/p>\n<p>This follows recent <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/news\/rsgb-notices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Board changes<\/strong><\/a> when Mark Jones G0MGX, Simone Wilson M0BOX and Chris Callicott, G4DJJ resigned from the Board.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dr John Rogers M0JAV<\/strong> has been co-opted as a Board Director and will lead the <em>Growth<\/em> strategic priority. He will also be the Board Liaison for the Amateur Radio Development Committee under which the <em>Beyond Exams<\/em> suite of initiatives sits.<br \/>\nJohn served as a Board Director from 2013 to 2015 and recently he has played an important role in managing the meetings of the <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/leadership-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Volunteer Leadership Team<\/strong><\/a> (VLT). In addition he has supported the Society\u2019s efforts towards minimising the interference to our frequencies from EMD such as via VDSL.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr Stewart Bryant G3YSX<\/strong> will be assisting the Board as a specialist adviser with a particular focus on the RSGB publications activities and supporting the Contest Committee.<br \/>\nStewart served as a Board Director continuously from 2012 to 2018 and has significant experience of many areas of the Society\u2019s activities.
