{"id":23425,"date":"2019-10-18T15:59:31","date_gmt":"2019-10-18T14:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=23425"},"modified":"2019-10-18T15:59:31","modified_gmt":"2019-10-18T14:59:31","slug":"apply-for-gb19yota-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2019\/10\/18\/apply-for-gb19yota-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Apply for GB19YOTA now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you applied to host the call sign for this year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/events.ham-yota.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Youngsters on the Air (YOTA) Month<\/strong><\/a> in December 2019?<\/p>\n<p>It is a great opportunity to encourage youngsters to get on the air and to learn more about the practical side of the hobby.<\/p>\n<p>The RSGB has the call sign GB19YOTA and we\u2019re looking for individuals, radio clubs, schools, Scout, Guide and Cadet groups to activate the call sign or host a station.<\/p>\n<p>Operations can be on HF, VHF and or UHF using all modes.<\/p>\n<p>Each day will be split into three operating slots, midnight to 1159UTC, 1200 to 1759 UTC, and 1800 to 2359UTC.<\/p>\n<p>You can also just operate for a few hours if you wish.<\/p>\n<p>All <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs-training\/for-students\/full\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Full licensed<\/strong><\/a> RSGB Members or <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs\/club-finder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Affiliated clubs<\/strong><\/a> can register to host the call sign.<\/p>\n<p>Such stations can be operated by <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs-training\/for-students\/foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Foundation<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/clubs-training\/for-students\/intermediate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Intermediate<\/strong><\/a> licence holders provided they are supervised by an appropriate Full licence holder.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the event is to get operators aged 26 or below on the air.<\/p>\n<p>To find out more go to <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/yota-month\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>rsgb.org\/yota-month<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To apply to host the call sign please email <strong>gb19yota@rsgb.org.uk<\/strong> with your full name and call sign, your RSGB Membership or affiliation number, plus your preferred dates and operating times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you applied to host the call sign for this year\u2019s Youngsters on the Air (YOTA) Month in December 2019?
