{"id":23036,"date":"2019-08-23T15:13:06","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T15:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=23036"},"modified":"2019-08-23T15:14:23","modified_gmt":"2019-08-23T15:14:23","slug":"join-w1aw-150th-birthday-celebration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2019\/08\/23\/join-w1aw-150th-birthday-celebration\/","title":{"rendered":"Join W1AW 150th birthday celebration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hiram Percy Maxim Birthday Celebration runs from 31 August to 8 September 2019.<\/p>\n<p>It commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of ARRL co-founder\u2014and first President\u2014Hiram Percy Maxim, W1AW.<\/p>\n<p>The objective is to work as many participating stations as possible.<\/p>\n<p>W1AW and all ARRL members will append \/150 to their call signs during this event.<\/p>\n<p>Stations will exchange a signal report and their ARRL\/RAC section.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 84 multipliers are available.<\/p>\n<p>DX stations will send a signal report and the letters DX instead of their section.<\/p>\n<p>All bands except 60, 30, 17, and 12m can be used.<\/p>\n<p>Contacts may be made on CW, phone and digital modes.<\/p>\n<p>Incentives are available for using different modes, operating portable, and using social media, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Logs will be scored, and downloadable certificates will be available.<\/p>\n<p>See the ARRL website for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/hpm150-birthday-celebration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>further details<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hiram Percy Maxim Birthday Celebration runs from 31 August to 8 September 2019.
