{"id":22654,"date":"2019-07-05T13:51:33","date_gmt":"2019-07-05T13:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=22654"},"modified":"2019-07-05T18:53:47","modified_gmt":"2019-07-05T18:53:47","slug":"bletchley-youngsters-hands-on-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2019\/07\/05\/bletchley-youngsters-hands-on-radio\/","title":{"rendered":"Bletchley youngsters\u2019 hands-on radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The RSGB invites young people, and an accompanying adult if the child is under 16 years, to join them at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalradiocentre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>National Radio Centre<\/strong><\/a> (NRC) at Bletchley Park on 6 August 2019 for a fun and hands-on workshop where they can learn more about radio and electronics.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop offers a short introduction to wireless communications, radio propagation and electronic construction, before moving on to the construction of a medium wave radio receiver using kits funded by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/commsfoundation.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Radio Communications Foundation<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The event is aimed at young persons aged 10 to 18.<\/p>\n<p>There is a choice of two sessions, a morning or afternoon workshop.<\/p>\n<p>Only eight places are available on each session.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets cost \u00a37 each and entry is by pre-booked ticket only.<\/p>\n<p>Details will be on the <a href=\"https:\/\/bletchleypark.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Bletchley Park website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The RSGB invites young people, and an accompanying adult if the child is under 16 years, to join them at the National Radio Centre (NRC) at Bletchley Park on 6 August 2019 for a fun and hands-on workshop where they can learn more about radio and electronics.
