Taking place in 1950, the Congress was attended by many well-known amateurs from around the world. The silent film also includes some marvellously authentic street scenes\u2014and some decidedly odd motor vehicles. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/publications-archives\/video\/film-archive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Film Archive<\/strong><\/a> on the RSGB website you can also read the <a href=\"https:\/\/thersgb.org\/publications\/radcom\/film-archive\/iaru_meeting_paris_1950\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Bulletin<\/em> report from August 1950<\/strong><\/a> on the same event, as well as view other historic films and articles.<\/p>\n<p>Former Colliery Sites on the Air takes place on 25 June 2019 from 7 to 9pm. It\u2019s easy to take part and there are very few rules\u2014all you need is a 2m handheld.
