{"id":19747,"date":"2018-05-04T15:00:14","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T15:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=19747"},"modified":"2018-05-04T15:06:33","modified_gmt":"2018-05-04T15:06:33","slug":"nhs-amateur-radio-callsign-launches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2018\/05\/04\/nhs-amateur-radio-callsign-launches\/","title":{"rendered":"NHS amateur radio call sign launches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GB1NHS is the new National Health Service amateur radio station.<\/p>\n<p>The RSGB\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalradiocentre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>National Radio Centre<\/strong><\/a> at Bletchley Park is hosting the launch event on Tuesday, 8 May 2018.<\/p>\n<p>National Radio Centre Coordinator Martyn Baker, G0GMB,\u00a0will make the initial transmission using the call sign at 10.45am and the event will run to 2pm.<\/p>\n<p>The launch is part of the NHS <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/endPJparalysis?src=hash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>#EndPJparalysis<\/strong><\/a> campaign, a 70-day mission to get patients up, dressed and moving while in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The long-term aim of the station is to promote, through the medium of amateur radio, NHS initiatives that lead to patients receiving excellent care, faster recovery and living longer, healthier lives.<\/p>\n<p>For further information see <a href=\"http:\/\/GB1NHS.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>GB1NHS.net<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GB1NHS is the new National Health Service amateur radio station.
