{"id":16810,"date":"2017-02-03T16:06:49","date_gmt":"2017-02-03T16:06:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=16810"},"modified":"2017-02-03T16:06:49","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T16:06:49","slug":"yota-2017-plans-progressing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/front-page-news\/2017\/02\/03\/yota-2017-plans-progressing\/","title":{"rendered":"YOTA 2017 plans progressing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plans for <a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/yota-2017\/\" target=\"_blank\">YOTA 2017<\/a> at Gilwell Park are progressing.<\/p>\n<p>The IARU YOTA team had a very difficult job in selecting the countries to be represented; they had more applications than can fit into the venue.<\/p>\n<p>To allow as many as possible to take part they decided to reduce the size of each team to three, including a young team leader.<\/p>\n<p>This resulted in 27 Region 1 countries and Japan being offered places.<\/p>\n<p>It seems the Japanese team will be looking at how the YOTA camp works to see if the idea can be exported to Region 3.<\/p>\n<p>The IARU team also raised the minimum age for attendance at YOTA camps to 15 and asked that all team leaders be under 30 years of age.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plans for YOTA 2017 at Gilwell Park are progressing.
