He was surrounded by his beloved family.<\/p>\n<p>John\u2019s interest in radio started as a child when his hobbies included wireless building. \u00a0It was no surprise when John went on to read Electronics and Manchester University and then completed his PhD.\u00a0 On 1 Oct 1970, John moved to Steyning with his wife Elise and joined Eurotherm, where his technical roles\u00a0were pivotal to the company\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p>John is irreplaceable. \u00a0Nothing but good memories are held by everyone who ever knew him.<\/p>\n<p>Tribute by Gavin Salt,\u00a0M3GGY<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is with deep sadness I report that John Michael Townsend G4ILY is now at rest.
