{"id":15928,"date":"2016-09-23T15:03:10","date_gmt":"2016-09-23T15:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=15928"},"modified":"2016-09-23T15:03:10","modified_gmt":"2016-09-23T15:03:10","slug":"former-rsgb-president-sk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/gb2rs\/headlines\/2016\/09\/23\/former-rsgb-president-sk\/","title":{"rendered":"Former RSGB President SK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sad news to begin this week\u2019s broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>Former RSGB President Terry Barnes, GI3USS has recently become a Silent Key.<\/p>\n<p>Terry served as RSGB President in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>He was the first GI callsign to hold the position for around 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>Terry had been a volunteer for the Society for some years before his election to President, and put this experience to good use during his term of office.<\/p>\n<p>He was also the President of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raota.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Radio Amateur Old Timers\u2019 Association<\/a> (RAOTA) from 1994 until 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts are with his family and many friends around the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sad news to begin this week\u2019s broadcast.
