{"id":8940,"date":"2013-11-14T14:22:43","date_gmt":"2013-11-14T14:22:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?page_id=8940"},"modified":"2019-07-29T15:45:04","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T15:45:04","slug":"leadership-team","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/leadership-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer Leadership Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Volunteer Leadership Team (VLT) was established in 2018 and comprises leading volunteers and key HQ staff members<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Its purpose is to provide a focus for all those leading the development of the amateur service including those priorities identified in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/rsgb-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSGB Strategy 2022<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This is essential because amateur radio covers a fascinating and wide range of interests and challenges which require an integrated approach to effective review and action planning.<\/p>\n<p>The VLT meets three times each year to review major developments and to consider specific topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spectrum defence (esp. interference)<\/li>\n<li>Support for antenna planning<\/li>\n<li>RSGB Support for members (what the Society provides as basic entitlement)<\/li>\n<li>Regional development (e.g. encouragement of new style clubs)<\/li>\n<li>Promotion of amateur radio for the future (innovation)<\/li>\n<li>Recruitment and retention of members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/leadership-team\/key-messages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">key messages from recent VLT meetings<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Its membership comprises:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RSGB <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Board Directors<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>RSGB General Manager and senior staff members<\/li>\n<li>Thirteen elected Regional Representatives (RRs) whose prime role is representing the Society and its members in its <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/regional-managers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">13 regions<\/a><\/strong>\u2014they have a Regional Forum within the VLT<\/li>\n<li>The Chairs of all <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/committees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSGB Committees<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Society\u2019s specialist <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/honorary-officers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Honorary Officers<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21382\" src=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2019\/01\/RSGB-Organisation.001.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2019\/01\/RSGB-Organisation.001.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2019\/01\/RSGB-Organisation.001-150x113.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2019\/01\/RSGB-Organisation.001-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2019\/01\/RSGB-Organisation.001-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2019\/01\/RSGB-Organisation.001-400x300.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Volunteer Leadership Team (VLT) was established in 2018 and comprises leading volunteers and key HQ staff members Its purpose is to provide a focus for all those leading the development of the amateur service including those priorities identified in RSGB Strategy 2022.
