{"id":46509,"date":"2026-04-13T15:19:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T14:19:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?page_id=46509"},"modified":"2026-04-17T10:03:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T09:03:52","slug":"spectrum-access-and-defence-successes-to-date","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/spectrum-protection\/spectrum-access-and-defence-successes-to-date\/","title":{"rendered":"Spectrum access and defence &#8211; successes to date"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>The RSGB has been part of the following spectrum defence successes<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>On VHF (144MHz), as part of the WRC-19 preparation process, we helped prevent aeronautical mobile being added to the global Primary 144-146 MHz amateur and amateur satellite allocation.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>On VHF (50MHz), as part of WRC-19, we campaigned internationally to obtain primary and secondary allocations in ITU Region 1.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Gaining additional bands: 136kHz, 472kHz and 5MHz.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Expanding 7MHz to include 7.1-7.2MHz.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Galileo radio navigation satellite system in 23cms (E6: 1258-1300MHz).<br \/>\nA sustained effort since 2007 will preserve most amateur interests.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>In addition, our work has resulted in improved access to the spectrum<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>Ofcom has granted access to non-amateur bands, for Full UK licensees, for experimentation purposes and to provide feedback to the UK regulator.
