"December

YOTA Month takes place every December with the aim of getting young people across IARU Region 1 active on the amateur bands. UK clubs and individuals take turns to host the special GB YOTA call sign throughout December, encouraging youngsters to get on the air. YOTA Summer Camps

The YOTA Summer Camps are attended by small teams from across IARU Regions 1, 2 and 3. Typically with around 100 attendees, the camps are an amazing opportunity for young people to operate the latest amateur radio equipment, take part in construction activities and make international friendships.

The main theme tends to be planning for the future of the hobby and designing sessions to run back at home to inspire other youngsters.

We have sent teams to camps held in other countries and we also hosted the summer camp here in the UK in 2017. We created vlogs in the lead up to the event and recorded daily video diaries which you can see with a host of other information in that section of our website.
