{"id":16995,"date":"2017-02-28T11:45:03","date_gmt":"2017-02-28T11:45:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?page_id=16995"},"modified":"2018-08-03T12:29:22","modified_gmt":"2018-08-03T12:29:22","slug":"yota-find-out-more","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/about-us\/yota\/yota-summer-camps\/yota-2017\/yota-find-out-more\/","title":{"rendered":"YOTA 2017 &#8211; What happened?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_16998\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16998\" class=\"wp-image-16998 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2017\/02\/ardf.png\" alt=\"YOTA ARDF\" width=\"190\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2017\/02\/ardf.png 190w, https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2017\/02\/ardf-150x100.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 190px) 100vw, 190px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16998\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">YOTA ARDF event<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>YOTA 2017 included a week-long range of wireless technology activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There was a special event station, a buildathon, antenna building, an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalradiocentre.co.uk\/ardf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Amateur Radio Direction Finding<\/strong><\/a> (ARDF) contest and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sota.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Summits on the Air<\/strong><\/a> (SOTA) activation.<\/p>\n<p>There was also a visit to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ofcom.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ofcom&#8217;s<\/strong><\/a> Radio Monitoring Station\u00a0at Baldock, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bletchleypark.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bletchley Park<\/a><\/strong>\u2014including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalradiocentre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>National Radio Centre<\/strong><\/a>\u2014and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencemuseum.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Science Museum<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We had help from a number of clubs, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lefars.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Loughton and Epping Forest ARS<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.g3efx.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Radio Society of Harrow<\/strong><\/a>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.camb-hams.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Camb-Hams<\/a><\/strong> and the Radio Scouting leaders from Gilwell Park.<\/p>\n<h2>Regional events<\/h2>\n<p>The RSGB&#8217;s regional team and clubs\u00a0all over the country suppored YOTA 2017 by putting on their own events for young people during the YOTA 2017 week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>YOTA 2017 included a week-long range of wireless technology activities There was a special event station, a buildathon, antenna building, an Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) contest and a Summits on the Air (SOTA) activation.
