OAS Regional Operating Advisers

| April 21, 2019

The Operating Advisory Service (OAS) is the RSGB’s advisory and reporting service. It provides advice on good practice to support radio amateurs affected by problems with use of the amateur bands.

We aim to recruit a team of Regional Operating Advisers (ROAs) from around the country, nominally one per region. The ROAs will be the first point of contact to provide advice for the Regional Team.

We are looking for RSGB Members to fill these positions. The role requires patience and tact, good communication skills and a willingness to help create and continue to improve this new service.

  • You will be pro-active in disseminating advice through clubs, repeater groups and events where radio amateurs may be found.
  • You will join an RSGB OAS Adviser email group where you will help develop common materials, including advice sheets to go on the RSGB website, ways of working with individuals affected by poor practice and updating presentations for clubs and other groups.
  • You will also share experience so that all are aware of what works well.
  • The ROAs will be managed by the OAS Coordinator, who reports to the Board.
  • ROAs will provide summaries of their activities on request.

How to apply

To find out more about the role, please send brief details of your relevant experience to the OAS Coordinator.
