YOTA Month 2018 at NRC

On 15 and 16 December 2018 the RSGB Youth Team activated the GB18YOTA call sign from the RSGB’s National Radio Centre at Bletchley Park. Over the two days the team, consisting of Jonathan Sawyer, James Monahan, Peter Barnes, Rebecca Hughes and Ben Chalmers, made around 600 QSOs and also spoke to a large number of NRC visitors about why they were excited by and passionate about amateur radio.

The team managed to use the call sign on 20, 40 and 80m, making contacts across the world.

Encouraging young people to take part in YOTA Month activities is an integral part of the RSGB’s Strategy 2022 as we aim to grow and develop amateur radio, and to support and encourage active participation in the hobby.

The RSGB Youth Team would also like to extend their thanks to all of the NRC volunteers who supported them throughout the weekend.
