Examination in progress** RSGB Convention Provisional Programme Now released **

As in previous years we hope it will be possible to take all three levels of the amateur radio examinations at the RSGB Convention over two days. Below are details of the 2017 arrangements – we expect these to be similar in 2018 and will update the page as soon as confirmation is received.

The usual criteria apply—e.g. completion of assessments, suitable ID etc.

Remember a discount is available—see below—for sitting multiple level exams, but we must mention that if candidates are unsuccessful at any level the remaining fee will be lost.

For more information email exams@rsgb.org.uk.

Discounted prices

  • Foundation and Intermediate
    £45 instead of £60
  • Intermediate and Full
    £52 instead of £70
  • All three
    £73 instead of £97.50

Additionally, this year candidates can take the Full Examination online using their own laptop computer—see FAQ no. 7 in Online Advanced Exams (5-page/204KB PDF) for the machine specification.

For more information about applying to take the Full Examination online please contact the Exam Department on exams@rsgb.org.uk.

The advantage of taking the exam online is candidates get their result immediately after completing the exam.

The cut-off dates for applications to take the UK amateur radio examinations at the RSGB Convention are 29 September 2017 for the Foundation and Intermediate, and 22 September 2017 for the Full exam.

US exams

At this year’s RSGB Convention there will also be the opportunity to sit the FCC tests for a US licence at 1pm on Sunday, 15 October 2017.

Please contact Martin, G3ZAY at g3zay@btinternet.com before the event if you would like to sit an exam.

This is important as he wants to ensure there are enough exam papers available and that candidates have the correct paperwork.
