Mick Gritton (SK) in RAYNET garb

Mick Gritton, M0UXO (SK)

It is with sadness to announce that BARS member Mick Gritton, M0UXO became, after a long, gallant fought battle with illness, silent key on Sunday the 13th of October.

Mick  joined BARS some years ago, taking all the exams to gain his licences from Foundation through to Advanced,  joined RAYNET and soon became Controller for Oxfordshire.

In the latter role despite the illness he continued participating on many events, not only in Oxfordshire but also all surrounding RAYNET groups including Wiltshire, Yorkshire and Hampshire; if any group was asking for help, Mick would try and be there.

Always enthusiastic he became BARS Treasurer, and Examination Secretary as well as engaging in the Society activities. Carrying out these latter roles very professionally and helping to make BARS the successful society it is today.

He will be well missed by all.

Our sincere condolences go to his wife and family.
