Jim Stevenson, G0EJQ (SK)

It is with great sadness that I inform everyone that Jim Stevenson, G0EJQ, RSGB Regional Representative for Region 13, passed away in hospital on 4th March 2019. He had been in hospital in Nottingham for some days with a breathing problem and seemed to be recovering  well after recently undergoing an operation.

The news came as a shock to all those local amateurs who knew him and all of us in Region 13 will greatly miss his significant contribution to our hobby.

Ian Shepherd, G4EVK
RSGB Board Chairman

Jim had a huge number of friends all around the country who I know will all be deeply shocked to hear this very very sad news.

He might not have matched the usual RSGB volunteer style, he always called a spade a spade, he might not always have been able to get his point over in a clear and succinct way etc but the one thing we all knew about Jim was that if you cut him in half you’d find ‘RSGB’ running through his whole body.

Dave Wilson, M0OBW
RSGB President

We understand that Jim’s funeral will take place at Grimsby Crematorium on Tuesday, 2 April at 12.20pm.

We have received the following message:

“The family of Jim Stevenson (G0EJQ – SK), would like to thank the amateur radio community for their help and support throughout this difficult time. In particular, we thank members of Lincoln Short Wave Club and RAF Waddington ARC, without whom our task would have been much more difficult.”
