RSGB NRC volunteers recognised

| January 11, 2021

Despite the RSGB National Radio Centre (NRC) being closed to visitors since March, a lot of work has gone on to install or upgrade the radio station set-up and the supporting PC applications in the radio room.

The NRC 80m NET has also run continuously every weekday and a slow Morse training session has been run for the volunteers.

NRC Coordinator Martyn Baker, G0GMB has highlighted the special assistance provided by three of the NRC volunteers to enable these things to happen during these challenging times:

  • Nigel Spear, G4RWI – the help given in setting up software at the NRC and his superb commitment in running the NRC 80m net each morning
  • Dave Pearson, G4UFS – helping to set up the OSCAR100 station at the NRC
  • John Bladen, G4FZA – the help and enthusiasm given with running the Morse sessions each morning
