Terry, G4POP will operate GB4FED, a special event call sign for VE day. It will be active between the 1st and 28th of May from The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex. The main activity will be on the 8 to 10th May to coincide with the yacht club’s VE Day anniversary events

Saturday the 9th of May will mark the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Guernsey after five years of occupation by the German forces. To commemorate this historic event, Guernsey Amateur Radio Society will be operating a special event station from the Albert Pier, St Peter Port, Guernsey using the callsign GU70LIB, from the evening the 8th until the afternoon of the 10th. Operation will be on all bands, as conditions allow, on SSB and CW, and a special QSL card is available.

This year also marks 70 years since the liberation and the end of WWII for Denmark. The callsign OZ5MAY will be on the air on the 4th and 5th of May in memory of those in the Resistance who risked their lives. Activity will be after 1730UTC. GB2RWM will take part in the National Mills on the Air weekend on 10th May from 10am to 4pm from Rayleigh Windmill, Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh, Essex SS6 7ED.

Unfortunately, the Bedworth Lions Club event supported by The Coventry Amateur Radio Club with GB4BLC that was due to take place on the 9th May has been cancelled.
