RESOLVED. Major power outage affecting RSGB HQ

We have now restored our major systems to normal operation, but monitoring and testing continue in case of any unidentified issues.

A major local power outage is affecting RSGB HQ at Bedford.

This is affecting some of our IT systems, including those used for lockdown remote working.

The telephone system is unaffected, so you may continue to call the usual numbers until we close today at 16.30 but please note we may not be able to deal with your inquiry at the moment.

The IT Helpdesk system at rsgb.org/helpdesk is also unaffected – please use that for other inquiries if they’re urgent.

We will continue to update this post as the situation develops.


UPDATE 16.29, 4 June 2020

We have learned from UK Power Networks that power has now been restored to the affected area, and staff are on their way to the HQ building to power up the affected IT systems.
