Mixing amateurs with huskies

| January 24, 2014

The Eagle Cap Extreme Dog Sled race is an annual event that takes place from 22nd to 25th January in the Wallowa Mountains in Northeastern Oregon, USA. Essential communications are provided by amateurs using a remote base and a pair of linked VHF repeaters. Some of the more remote checkpoints are linked by HF. This year the race communications can be heard worldwide on the DAWGGONE Echolink Conference Server, courtesy of the DoDropIn node, and via the Joseph Oregon Repeater web page at www.josephoregonweather.com. More information on the race is at www.eaglecapextreme.com.
