Canadians get 5MHz without NoV

| January 24, 2014

Industry Canada announced this week that it is opening access to the 5MHz band, dropping the special VX9 series 60m developmental licence arrangements. Canadian amateurs will have access to the same five 2.8kHz channels as the USA, with a maximum power of 100W PEP. The frequencies are 5332, 5348, 5358.5, 5373 and 5405kHz. Licensees in other countries are reminded that they can only reply on frequencies allocated by their own regulator, which may not coincide with the Canadian frequencies.
