From 14  to 28 January, John, GM0KTO and his XYL Rosemary will be visiting The Gambia. John intends to operate using his Gambian visitor’s callsign of C5/G0KTO and should be on the HF bands using mainly SSB and occasionally CW.

OE4AAC will be operational as S79AC from Mahe and Praslin Islands in the Seychelles Island group AF-024 between 17 January and 10 February. Activity will be holiday style on the 10 to 40m bands on CW only. QSLs to OE4AAC, direct, by the bureau or Club Log’s OQRS.

The C5X DXpedition to the Gambia will run from the 15  to 26 January. The team of four English operators G3VMW, G3XAQ, G3XTT and M0PCB will be operating from the Bungalow Beach Hotel at Kotu, in the Serrakunda district of Gambia on a north-west facing site, close to the Atlantic Ocean. With two high-power stations, equipped with Elecraft K3 transceivers and KPA-500 amplifers, the team will be on all bands from 10 to 160m on CW, SSB, RTTY and a little PSK31/63. Antennas include two Spiderbeams on the five HF bands and dipoles at good height for the lower bands. The QSL manager is for this operation will be M0OXO.

KC9W, will be active stroke HH5 from Haiti between 11 January and 3 February on the 160, 80 and 40m bands using CW only. QSL direct via KC0W. KC0W will be there between 12 January and 3 February. QSL direct to his home callsign.

A group of Japanese operators will activate the callsign XR0YJ on Easter Island, SA-001, until 16 January. They will be active on the 80 to 6m bands and QSLs will be handled by OQRS.

Francis, F6BLP will be QRV as 6W7SK from Senegal until 5 February. Activity will be on 160 to 10 metres using mainly CW and RTTY. QSL to the home callsigns.
