Contest News – 11 January 2015

| January 9, 2015

Today, the 11th, it is the 80m CW AFS contest. This runs from 1400 to 1800UTC and the exchange is signal report and serial number.

On Tuesday, the 13th, the 432MHz UK Activity Contest runs from 2000 to 2230UTC. Using all modes the exchange is the usual signal report, serial number and locator.

On 17th January the SSB AFS contest runs from 1400 to 1800UTC using SSB only on the 3.5 and 7MHz bands. The exchange is signal report and serial number. The contest is very different this year because 40m has been added, making it a 2-band contest. Propagation is likely to be good within the UK on both bands at the start, but challenging on at least one of them by the end, especially for close-in working. For the leading stations the name of the game will be to operate on the right band at the right time. Both the AFS contests are qualifying events in the Affiliated Societies Super League series.
