We start with a request from Shefford and District Amateur Radio Society, which celebrates its 70th birthday in October. Chippenham and District Amateur Radio Club is holding its rally, electronics fair and car boot sale this Sunday from 9am at Kington Langley Village Hall and Fields, Kington Langley, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 5NJ. Radio Society of Harrow has its net this Sunday and next Sunday from 12 noon on 1938kHz LSB. This Sunday also sees an outdoor event at Old Redding car park from 2 to 5pm. Monday sees a net on 145.500MHz at 8.15pm. More information from Linda, G7RJL, via email to lcasey100@outlook.com.

Surrey Radio Contact Club has a net on 1905kHz from 9.30am this Sunday and next Sunday. On Thursday there’s a club net on 70.300MHz and on Friday they’re on 145.350MHz, both nets starting at 8pm. Further details from John, G3MCX, on 020 8688 3322.

On Monday Essex Ham has a net on GB3DA from 8pm, with a chatroom and audio feed at essexham.net. Saturday sees the YL net on GB3DA from 8pm. Next Sunday they start the online Foundation course. Contact Pete, M0PSX, via email to news@essexham.co.uk.

Bromley and District Amateur Radio Society holds its club meal on Tuesday. On Wednesday it’s the club net from 9pm, starting on 145.500MHz and QSY. Further info from Andy, G4WGZ, on 01689 878 089.

Crystal Palace Radio and Electronics Club has its net on Wednesday from 8pm on 145.525MHz ± QRM. Friday sees the summer social and buffet. For more details contact Bob, G3OOU, on 01737 552 170.

Southdown Amateur Radio Society holds its Hailsham Shack meeting on Wednesday at 10:30am. On Wednesday it has  its FM Net on 145.275MHz from 8.30am; a cafe meeting at 12.30, and a CW net on 144.060MHz from 7pm. Saturday sees its club barbecue  starting at 12 noon. From Thursday to next Monday, celebrating five decades of offshore broadcasting, Martello Tower Group is operating GB5RC from MV Ross Revenge, home to Radio Caroline since 1983. It’s in the Blackwater Estuary, near Mersea Island and Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex. Operation will be on 80m, 40m, 20m, 17m and 10m, SSB and various datamodes.
