We start with the very sad news that RSGB Deputy Regional Manager Melvyn Irvine, MI0MSR, passed away suddenly on Thursday evening whilst attending his local club. Melvyn was a faithful member of the Region 8 team and was well known as Jim Bob’s sidekick at rallies the length and breadth of the country. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

Mid Ulster Amateur Radio Club is taking part in the RSGB 2m activity night on Tuesday and making preparations for Lurgan Show, where the club will have a stand on Saturday. Next Sunday sees a video night, showing Tony Hancock’s The Radio Ham. Contact Brian Burns, MI0TGO, by email to muarc.secretary@yahoo.co.uk.

On Friday 6 Grey Point Fort Amateur Radio Society starts its three day commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. Details from Stephen McFarland, GI4RNP, on 02891 852 731.
