News for England Midlands – 20 November 2016

We start with clubs that have several events this week. Worksop Amateur Radio Society continues its Intermediate course today and next Sunday. Tuesday sees the UKACs plus a club night, and on Thursday there’s a technical night with construction, Morse training, radio operation and data modes. Wythall Radio Club has its net on 145.225MHz or GB3WL from 8pm today and next Sunday. The Advanced course continues on Monday, and on Tuesday there’s a Morse class and club night. Friday sees the regular nibbles night in the shack. Details from Chris, G0EYO, on 07710 412 819.

Coventry Amateur Radio Society has its open net on Monday from 8pm on 145.375MHz FM and/or 7.16MHz ± QRM. On Thursday there’s an open net from 8pm on 50.175MHz SSB. Friday sees a radio workshop. Contact John, G8SEQ, on 07958 777 363.

Gloucester Amateur Radio & Electronics Society is having an informal and general operating evening on Monday. On Wednesday it’s the club net from 7.30pm, initially on 145.500MHz then moving to 145.550MGz or the nearest clear channel. Lincoln Short-Wave Club has a committee meeting on Monday. Tuesday sees the 50Mz UKAC, and on Wednesday there’s a formal meeting and construction contest.
