News for England North – 12 August 2018

We start with news from clubs that have several events this week.

Oldham Radio Club has a C4FM Net, FCS004-55, this Sunday from 9.30am, and on Wednesday it’s a 2m FM net from 8pm. Thursday sees their annual general meeting, and next Sunday they have a D-Star net on REF 14B from 9.30am. Contact Mike, M1CVL, on 0740 276 3203.

Warrington Amateur Radio Club is holding a ‘Solder Sunday’ and operating afternoon today and next Sunday. On Tuesday evening there’s a talk by Evan Duffield, M0TJU, Aurora Visual and Radio from 8pm. Halifax and District Amateur Radio Society will be operating a portable station from Blackshaw Head on Tuesday. On Wednesday there’s an open net on GB3HD from 7.30pm, and Thursday sees a joint net with RAFARS on 145.350MHz from 7pm. Details from Martin, M0GQB, on 01422 341 317.

Wirral Amateur Radio Society is having a natter night and continuation of the Foundation course on Tuesday from 7pm. On Wednesday there’s SSB Field Day planning and preparation, and Thursday sees G3NWR ATV on the air; call in on 144.750MHz to arrange contacts.
