We start with advance notice of a Digital Radio User Guidelines session to be staged on 7 November by the UKFMWG. The meeting will take place at the Warrington Amateur Radio Club and will include user friendly advice and hands on equipment, plus a question and answer session. Now for news from clubs that have several events this week. Angel of the North Amateur Radio Club is planning for JOTA on Monday and has the club station on the air. Halifax & District Amateur Radio Society is having a talk on Tuesday by Colin, 2E0HQJ on reducing QRM. The open net is on Wednesday from 7.30pm on 145.400MHz. Thursday sees a net in association with the West Yorkshire branch of RAFARS on 145.350MHz from 7pm. On a separate note, on the 6th of October Dick Hardy, G3TIX was awarded Lifetime Honorary Membership of HADARS in recognition of his very long membership.
