We start with news from Torbay Amateur Radio Society that an Intermediate course is planned for August. Training will take place on the weekends of the 9th/10th and 16th/17th, with the exam on the 17th. More information is available online at www.tars.org.uk.

Now for clubs that have several events this week. Trowbridge and District Amateur Radio Club has a club table at the West Rally today. On Wednesday there’s a presentation by Peter Chadwick, G3RZP, in which he analyses the results of 133 transmitter product reviews going back to the 1970s and charts the degradation in HF transmitter intermodulation performance since the move to solid state. Exeter Amateur Radio Society has its club net on Monday on 3.675MHz from 7.45pm. The 2m net is on Tuesday on 145.575MHz from 7.45pm. Contact Nick, M0NRJ, on 01363 775 756.

Cornish Radio Amateur Club is holding a committee meeting on Wednesday. On Thursday it’s the main club meeting and next Saturday sees setting up for the rally at Penair School, Truro, which takes place next Sunday. Details from Steve, G7VOH, on 01209 844 939.
