December YOTA Month 2017

December YOTA Month has begun and we’re supporting this great event again for a fourth year.

The event encourages young people to experience the excitement and diversity that amateur radio has to offer with other activities running alongside the on-air station. These can include kit building, direction finding and other wireless-related activities.

Last year the UK managed 3,145 QSOs in December thanks to the fantastic effort from all participants. We are happy to say that this year has attracted a number of different clubs, societies and schools, all ready to go for their date in December. Listen out for them on the air and encourage them as they experience the excitement of amateur radio.

The hosts of the GB17YOTA call sign throughout December are as follows:

1 Sandringham School
2 RSGB Youth Committee Region 7 Representative, Will Davies (being supervised by a Full licence holder)
