As part of the International Amateur Radio Union’s (IARU) Youngsters on the Air (YOTA) programme, the RSGB Youth Committee are seeking three young members between the age of 14 and 25 to take part in the event this summer, which is being hosted in Austria.
- Be aged between 14 & 25
- Be a member of the RSGB
- Have a valid Passport
- Have valid travel insurance for the journey
- Keep a diary of events and provide a write up afterwards
- Be prepared to speak to local clubs about it afterwards
- Happy to have their photograph and name published in RadCom and other RSGB media outlets
We are looking for members to represent the whole of the UK’s young amateurs. It matters not how long you have held a Licence, what level of Licence you hold or where you live, all who meet the criteria are welcome to apply.
Team members will be asked to contribute a nominal fee of £50 towards the cost of the trip. All other costs will be met by the RSGB.
The leader of this year’s trip for the UK Team will be Sara McGarvey, who is a licensed amateur and also a Deputy Regional Manager. Sara in her day-to-day role is a social worker and has experience leading international trips as far away as Canada. The team leader was recruited in line with our Safeguarding Policy and holds an Enhanced DBS.
If you would like to go on a once of a lifetime trip to Austria and represent your country, then email Mike Jones, RSGB Youth Chairman, on email@example.com for an application form. Closing date for applications is Monday 22 February 2016, at noon.
